BORGO MARINARO

Castel dell'Ovo

(sec.XII) - The "Ovo Castle" towers over the Borgo Marinaro (fishermen's village) on the sea front at Santa Lucia. Its turrets and bastions were added over the years to the original Norman keep, built on the remains of a Roman villa. This castle has been the scene of many events in the history of Naples.
