BAIA

Aragonese Castle

The Roman baths of Baia are of great interest. They were very popular with the Romans during the imperial age, and were sorrounded by elegant villas.
The excavations have brought to light the impressive remains of the Imperial Palace, including the Baths of Jasardra, the Baths of Mercury, the Baths of Venus and the Temple of Diana. Further excavations at present in progress in the sea along the coast of Baia have disclosed the remains of streets and buildings dating from still earlier periods. The Port and Baia Castle are two other important places of interest in this area.
